    this poem makes the colors of the image pop. both stanzas offer a stark contrast from one another and a depressing comparison from narrator and subject. there is also an element of tension here that adds to the atmosphere of this piece on the whole. a good read this morning.

    I really like the conflict between the way the speaker sees the subject and the way the subject sees him/herself. It’s something we run into all the time and the poem expresses that nicely.
